    Description

    Hi all!
    This is a gorgeous, polished piece of Petrified Wood from the Texas Yegua formation, between 50 and 40 million years old. It has terrific preservation of the grain and rings and is a beautiful leopard skin pattern of black with caramel spots! Petrified wood is a special type of fossilized wood that occurs when the organic molecules in the wood are replaced by minerals, usually quartz. This piece measures 2.25 x 1.25 x .75 inches and weighs 2.8 ounces.
